Yesterday I announced I was utterly SHOOK by the new Urban Decay Elements Palette, so much so that I had to create a few makeup looks involving the pretty, color-rich eyeshadows in this lovely set.
What surprised me the most about this eyeshadow palette is the actual texture of the shadows. They’re unlike any I’ve seen from Urban Decay before and I truly was a bit surprised that Urban Decay has gone this route with shadows. It’s not that the shadows are bad, per se (which they’re not), but they have a distinct silicone-y texture that seem to have taken over the makeup industry.
Overall I do think the Urban Decay Elements Palette is pretty (if a bit overpriced) and I can see myself having lots of fun with these colorful eyeshadows for a while to come! I came up with a couple of eye looks to share with you and broke one down in an eyeshadow tutorial.
I started with Elemental in the crease applied with a blending brush. More on my favorite eyeshadow brushes here.
Next I applied Earthbound in the middle of my lid and Fool’s Gold on the inner corner of my lid.
I blended Lioness on my outer corner and finished the look with Luna on the browbone and inner corner of my lid.
I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil in Smoke to finish this look.
On my lips is Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Lip Gloss in Backtalk.
For the second look I started off with Elemental in the crease and then Fire Starter in my inner corner, crease and outer corner of my lids.
I patted a bit of Ego and then Electric Air on the middle of my lid with Hex Remedy as the liner.
I hope you enjoyed this look! Did you peep my late to Fashion Week look on Instagram? I think this might be my outfit for my upcoming 40th birthday! Ha ha!
