Things are growing and changing in the beauty world in so many wonderful ways these days. Accessibility to brands is ever increasing, and I was recently so excited to see beloved skincare brand Sunday Riley available at Ulta.
Sunday Riley is a relative newcomer to the skincare arena and has a plethora of great reviews. Actually, Sunday Riley was in the news a couple of weeks ago for those rave reviews – they got caught by the Federal Trade Comission (FTC)! It turns out the brand had employees write fake reviews on Sephora’s website. Not a cool thing at all!
I bought the Sunday Riley Starter Kit Vol. 1 before this news broke and really went on the good reviews I’ve heard from fellow beauty lovers, including many of you! I was glad to see this kit available because the stand alone prices are up there, a lot more spendy than the bargain prices I’ve become used to from The Ordinary, my go-to skincare brand lately.
Costing $49, I definitely winced a bit when the Sunday Riley Starter Kit Vol. 1 arrived because the individual sizes are … small. I got about 3 weeks of use out of the products, more or less. I say more because some of the products I’m still using and some ran out pretty quickly.
The Sunday Riley Starter Kit Vol. 1 includes the following products: Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment (0.27 oz), C.E.O. Vitamin C Brightening Serum (0.27 oz), Luna Sleeping Night Oil (0.16) and Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream (0.16 oz).
There’s a morning and evening routine with the products – you use the Vitamin C Serum and Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream in the morning. In the evening you use Luna Sleeping Night Oil, Good Genes and Tidal.
After 3 weeks of using the products I can definitely say I can see what the whoop is all about. Good Genes and Luna Sleeping Oil have increased the clarity of my skin and will be going on my wish list.
My Final Thoughts: This kit is an online exclusive to Ulta and, all in all, a good way to dip your toes into the world of Sunday Riley. I do wish the sizes were a smidge larger but I did get a good feel for the brand and know which full size products will go on my wish list. If you want this kit, I recommend waiting until there’s a good 20% discount available at Ulta.
