In 2019 my daily skincare routine went from something kinda simple to a few steps more complicated. I’m happy to stay that sans a handful of nights when I was just too tired to move, I’ve stuck with my regimen and have reaped bountiful skin benefits.
At age 41 I’m happy with the general direction of my skincare situation. There are a couple of skin concerns I need to explore/accept, similar to what’s going on with my grey hair situation. Seriously, what’s going on with all these newfound silver strands? Part of me wants to yank ’em all out but another part of me wants to rock them as they come in and eventually think of a hair color solution.
I did introduce a few new skincare products in 2019 that have certainly made a difference. But before I get into the products, I have to tell you the greatest victory, which is over the psoriasis that had been plaguing my neck and around my eyes for MONTHS! You know what it all came down to? Food sensitivities. I eliminated the foods that were causing issues and my skin is psoriasis free, so if you have similar issues it’s worth taking a deeper look.
The NuFACE Fix Line Smoothing Device is an electrocurrent device I’d been lusting over for years. I’m glad I indulged because it really has improved the skin around my eyes. It takes 3 minutes per night and I’m a fan. It comes with a serum, but instead of repurchasing I’m using any water-based serum.
It smells but it works. The end. Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 Original 1970 is a skincare product that made me question all of my choices, but my goodness, the results are incredible. I use this once a day after cleansing, it is intense, but it has helped make my skin smoother than I’ve seen in a quick minute.
I’m not new to Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream, but it’s been quite a few years since it’s been a regular part of my skincare collection. I’m glad I rediscovered it because it’s so hydrating. I tap on a generous layer at night. Fabulous.
The INKEY List Alpha Hydroxy Acid Serum Skincare is $10 and sooooo effective. It sloughs of dead skin cells like nothing else! I’ve repurchased this and am very happy with the skin smoothing results.
I’ve repurchased a few products from The Ordinary and especially love The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1%. This serum absorbs easily, leaves no film and helps target wrinkles and fine lines.
Here’s to even better skincare in 2020!
