Real Techniques is a budget friendly brand of makeup brushes and sponges designed by Nic and Sam Chapman, the makeup artists behind the Pixiwoo YouTube channel.
All Real Techniques brushes are synthetic and have earned their excellent reputation.
I’ve used and loved many Real Techniques products throughout the years and have to say they’ve all held up beautifully. The blush brush is my jam! The only problem I’ve ever had is the rubber handle peeling off a bit like Nars packaging, but otherwise the brushes remain strong and don’t shed even after years of use.
The Rebel Edge Trio of brushes are all splayed at a 45 degree angle. They are cropped and yet fluffy and truly interesting. I will say that through the years I’ve seen other makeup artists pinch the stems of their brushes to manipulate them and get them to have this very shape. It’s a very functional way of applying makeup so it’s well blended.
The Real Techniques Rebel Edge Trio includes a bronzer/powder blush, a highlighting brush and a brush you can use to blend your liner or eyeshadow.
My Final Thoughts: I’m a fan of the Real Techniques Rebel Edge Trio. Far from being gimmicky, they’re soft and help blend your products to perfection.
