Sure, a kiss on the hand may be quite Continental, but the Real Techniques Miracle Diamond Sponge is a makeup lover’s best friends. You know I had to get work that song into this review!
That song happens to be “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend”, as famously crooned by Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I have to admit I’m a huge fan of older movies and have to take the time to watch this classic again. It’s a fun movie and I do adore the movies from years past. The Real Techniques Miracle Diamond Sponge is another soon-to-be classic makeup product I think you’re going to really enjoy using.
The adorable and functional Real Techniques Miracle Diamond Sponge is one of 8 new sponges brought to us by Sam and Nic, the sisters behind the Pixiwoo beauty channels and the creators of the Real Techniques makeup brush and sponge line. I’m a huge fan of the original Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and actually favor it over my Beautyblender these days.
The Real Techniques Miracle Diamond Sponge isn’t just a pretty little sponge, each facet is designed for a specific function.
Use the flat larger sides to apply foundation. Use the top to buff in your foundation. This gives my foundation a gorgeous, lovely finish and it doesn’t absorb a whole lot of makeup, which is a huge plus.
Use the smaller flat sides around your eyes, mouth, and brow bone.
Use the pointed tip to get into those hard to reach areas.
You can use this sponge wet or dry and with care it will last 1 – 3 months. I typically wash it with any cleaner I have lying around, but I think I’m going to invest in a Beautyblender cleanser because what I’m using ends up leaving stains on my Real Techniques sponges.
Keep this little plastic insert that comes in the box – you can use it to prop the sponge up while it’s drying.
My Final Thoughts: The Real Techniques Miracle Diamond Sponge is a really nice tool. It’s so easy to hold in my hands and leaves my skin with a beautiful finish. It’s a keeper and pretty to look at, to boot. For the price it can’t be beat!
