Who am I buying an entire palette of neutral eyeshadows? As much as I am a devotee of colorful eyeshadows, I do love and value a good copper and shimmery tan shadow, as seen in this BareMinerals palette I featured not too long ago. And yes, I do think matte medium brown eyeshadow colors are a must for placing in my crease for most of my eyeshadow applications.
The NARS Skin Deep Eyeshadow Palette contains 12 eyeshadows – 6 matte and 6 shimmer. It’s sleek, beautiful and does not (I repeat, does not) have the traditional rubbery Nars overlay. A plus, because that packaging is the worst! The only problem I do have with this palette is that the clasp is so hard to open. I have the same problem with the Viseart Golden Hour palette and aforementioned Bare Minerals palette. What’s up with that?
One of the reasons I got this palette is that it’s been a while since I’ve used any Nars shadows and I wanted to see what was up. In the past I wasn’t the biggest fan of Nars eyeshadows. The blushes? Amazing. But my prior experiences with their shadows was pretty much neutral/blah.
The good news is that these shadows are each perfectly lovely and the farthest away from blah as you can get. They’re designed to work with any skintone, and I can definitely agree with that. Zero splotchiness involved!
My Final Thoughts: I get a good feeling from the Nars Skin Deep Eyeshadow Palette. It’s a splurge but for a good cause – these shadows are smooth and saturated with color.
