The Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit The Wants Eyeshadow Palette featured in this post was purchased by me. All opinions are 100% my own.
I wasn’t planning on purchasing the Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit The Wants eyeshadow palette, but aren’t those famous last words before anyone heads into a makeup store? It didn’t hurt that with coupons and points I got the palette for a song, which is truly one of the best things about purchasing makeup at Ulta.
One of two palettes by former news anchor turned Beauty YouTube star Emily Noel, this is a 24 pan palette of cool and warm toned eyeshadows. When I was a teenager I harbored dreams of being a news anchor, so I feel a kinship to Emily! I have used Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes in the past and have been surprisingly pleased by their quality for their relatively low price point.
The packaging is very sleek and includes a generous mirror, which is always a plus.
Let’s take a closer look a the palette. Here is side one with a mix of cool and warm toned light shadows – mainly brown and pinks.
And here’s the left side, with a bit of a party going on!
I’ve swatched the shadows for you here row by row.
And a fun eye look! I’ll have a few more coming for you tomorrow.
If you’re considering this palette, there’s one potential problem to keep in mind: mold! Several customers have found mold in their palettes, and it looks like it’s happening to people who purchased their palette online. I bought mine at an Ulta store and did not have this issue. Miranda at Slashed Beauty ordered and received a palette with mold and she has a good write up about the situation.
My Final Thoughts: Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit The Wants eyeshadow palette isn’t fantastic and it isn’t terrible. It’s a nice palette with a mix of warm and cool tones that’s fun to play with. Some of the mattes are a bit patchy on my eyelids, but I find the shimmers are nice.
