The Holiday season is in full swing, and it’s one of my favorite times of the year. I love the lights, music, and getting dolled up for a party or two because it means glitter is involved, which is always a good thing. If you’re headed to a party at night and don’t have extra time to change up your look, I have a few easy tips to show you how to take your makeup from day to night.
For an example, here’s the makeup from yesterday’s Makeup Of The Day.
To make it Holiday ready, I just made a couple of additions and changes.
Step 1: Add a gold glitter to your lower eyelid. For this face, I used Golden Fairy by Violet Voss. To make sure the glitter stays in place, I always add e.l.f. Cosmetics Glitter Primer on the area with a brush before the glitter.
Step 3: For added glam, throw on a pair of falsies. If you are in need of false lash application help, make sure to read my false lashes tutorial!
Step 4: Add a bit of shimmer on your cheeks with a glowy highlighter. I love Painted Earth’s Highlighter in Seychelles.
Step 5: I swapped the red lipstick from the original look and added a light brown gloss, Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Bare Secret.
Now you’re ready to shimmer and shine with the best of ’em!
If you need help getting rid of errant glitter, I have an easy trick! Just use a piece of tape and it will pick up the glitter without disturbing your makeup. Place and remove the tape on your hand to make it a little less sticky beforehand.
Enjoy! Now get your Holiday party on!
