Cream foundation hasn’t been on my radar for quite some time, but there was a time and a place in my life when it was a makeup must. I used CoverGirl’s Aqua Cream foundation for years, and then MAC’s Studio Tech. I’m not quite sure how I got off the cream foundation kick, but I was excited to try out Youngblood’s Mineral Radiance Crème Powder Foundation.
I first used creme-to-powder foundations when I started using prescription-strength retinol products, which turned my skin into a flaky and dry mess. Creme foundations were the only product I could find that soothed my skin and helped it look somewhat decent. Needless to say, I am a perpetual fan of this type of foundation.
Youngblood’s Mineral Radiance Crème Powder Foundation is available in 8 different shades and gives a luminous, powdery finish. This foundation contains peptides and other nutrients to soothe redness and Green Algae keeps the skin hydrated. While this foundation is ideal for normal to dry skin, it does work well for all skin types.
The compact is solid black and has a lower compartment with a sponge. You can use the brush, but I use a duo fiber foundation brush, which I like because it gives my skin a really smooth finish. The shade I tried is Barely Beige, which is actually a bit closer to my Winter skin tone. I was apprehensive, but to my surprise the foundation worked well with a touch of bronzer to warm things up.
It’s been a while since I’ve taken new headshots, and so when the weather cooled down a bit from all humid, all hot, all the time, I took advantage and headed to my favorite outdoor photo spot. With a tripod and camera remote, anything is possible! Thank goodness I went during a quiet time, because otherwise I would have been totally embarrassed. I love the way my skin looks, thanks to Youngblood!
Youngblood cruelty-free and paraben-free products were designed for sensitive skin, and especially skin that has had laser or chemical treatments. If you are looking for soothing, effective makeup that won’t irritate your skin, you will probably love this creme foundation. It’s also a great product if you are looking for a good creme-to-powder foundation in general. Youngblood’s Mineral Radiance Crème Powder Foundation retails for $56 and is available online and in select spas and stores.
