Yes, You Do Need Milani Cosmetics Anti-Feathering Lipliner

I Bought It

By Sheila Arkee

I can almost hear it: A clear lip pencil? Why? How? Really?

Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner 1

Yes, really. It’s Milani Cosmetics Anti-Feathering Lipliner and it’s a must have for your lip product collection.

In my journeys as a makeup lover, makeup artist, and makeup blogger, one question I hear quite frequently is on the subject of lip liner in general. Is it a necessity? I argue, YES! Even if you’re using a nude color, which is what I do 85% of the time, lip pencil gives lips an even playing ground and helps contain lip product within your lips. Also, even if you just wear it on the upper lip, I see and believe that a lip pencil helps make your lips show up in photos a who lot better.

A clear lip pencil is a good product to keep on hand because it helps maintain lipstick and gloss and also can be used as a primer. I like this clear pencil for lighter lip products, and as Milani point out, this is mistake proof because it’s transparent, which is great for any shade of lipstick or gloss.

My Final Thoughts: With an entirely affordable price tag, you’ll want to grab Milani Cosmetics Anti-Feathering Lipliner the next time you’re at the drugstore. This vitamin enriched clear pencil helps make your lips look great, whether used to fill in your lips as a primer or used to outline your lips before lipstick or gloss.

One thing I’ve never understood about clear lipliner–do you use it ON the lips (the way you would a colored lipliner), or do you use it around the outside like a barrier? I have the Nyx nude pencil–I can’t remember what it’s called but a multipurpose nude?–and I seem to recall they recommended (in the product photos) that if you use it as a lipliner, to outline the edges of the lips in it. I tried that and couldn’t really get it blended well enough with my foundation to not look weird.

You can use it both ways – since this is clear, it’s easier than the NYX nude pencil. Hope this helps!

Thanks! Is there a way you think it works better? Would you suggest on the lips or around?

I have a couple of these clear liners and am guilty of not using them. You have convinced me that it is a must. I am just so lazy sometimes with using ALL of the products!

I’ve never used a clear liner. I probably only used a lip pencil on clients and when I’m going out.

Looks very nice. I hate traditional lip liners. I just wish Milani was more accessible by me.

I was so close to buying this today lol but I’m testing the elf one out right now!

It’s a lot easier to purchase a clear lip gloss at that amazing price point lol I’m so glad it works! I buy Urban Decay Ozone but use it sparingly because I feel like it’s a lot for a clear lip pencil. I need to get my hands on the Milani!

I usually hate lip liners. They drag, they’re never the right color.. maybe this is the solution for me! At that price, it’s worth trying it. I’m curious about the ELF one that Miranda is testing, too!
