It was one of those days unexpectedly devoted to clearing out clutter. A peek into a few of my makeup bins to find an errant blush snowballed into a trip down memory lane, and I took a moment to think back on some tried and true makeup and skincare products. Some of these mainstays have been around from my teenage years, when I was first learning about beauty.
Cetaphil brand cleansers and moisturizers are some of those products that have stood the test of time as skincare products that will always be a part of my life. Cetaphil cleansers and moisturizers are the #1 pediatrician recommended brand, and recommended by more dermatologists than any other brand. Once you’ve used them, it’s easy to see why.
When I was a teenager I had horrible acne and started using retinol products to control the breakouts. Although the strong retinols worked, they also made my skin extremely sensitive to anything, really. Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser was the only product I could find that didn’t burn my face, and I came to rely on this for many years to come. Today I like it just as much, and use it to make sure my skin is in tip top shape. I can also use it on my son, which is an extra bonus point.
Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser is fragrance free, non-comedogenic, and keeps your skin looking good because it doesn’t strip your skin of natural protective oils or emollients, or disturb the skin’s natural pH balance.
Being out in the sun as much as I am, having a good moisturizer with a SPF 15 is a requirement. I’ve been using Cetaphil® Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 lately and it’s quickly earned a valued place in my skincare arsenal. This lotion is not only lightweight, it’s effective. Even though I have dark olive skin, I do have a tendency to burn a bit. Cetaphil® Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 gets me through the day without a hint of singe, making it a clear cut winner.
With my normal-to-oily skin, I find this fragrance-free lotion to be very lightweight and also it works nicely as a primer for foundation. The active ingredients in the SPF are avobenzone 3% and octocrylene 10%.
Cetaphil is offering my readers a $3 off coupon so you can try this combination as well. Click here to save up to $3.

My favorite skincare item is one that I started using because of this blog– DHC cleansing oil. It is the only thing that actually takes off all of my make up at night and doesn’t irritate my eyes.
Tweeted it! https://twitter.com/LeHobbylobbyist/status/280752059333083136
my chapstick is number one, my lips get so dry.
I love my Cetaphil! I think my #1 would have to be jojoba oil (thanks to this blog, actually!). It removes my eye makeup more gently than any professional product I’ve ever used, it’s my favorite night-time moisturizer, and this isn’t skincare-related but it gives my the most beautiful shine if I squirt some in my shampoo. Jojoba’s the BEST!
Oh– not trying to dup, just wanted to also point out I also use jojoba in my son’s homemade baby wipe formula. His sweet little bum is rash-free and so soft!
I couldn’t live without Moisturizer with spf. I haven’t tried Cetaphil, but I’d love to give it a try.
Thanks so much
