After my recent misfortunes with Wet n Wild products, I finally have a breath of fresh air in the form of a very positive review. It’s about time we had some wins with this hit or miss brand, and that’s just the case with their MegaLast Liquid Lip Color in Back to the Fuchsia and Raisin’ The Roof.
I went in to these lip colors expecting something glossy on my lips that might last a little longer than a traditional gloss would, but was I ever shocked when that was the last thing to happen.
Don’t be fooled by the container, bright swatches, and doe-foot applicator – these are some major stains! You get a mega dose of color enhanced with ElastiSilk for flexibility, making them easy to apply and wear through the day, which you will be because they are a pain to remove otherwise.
Here’s Raisin’ The Roof.
And here’s Back to the Fuchsia.
Remember when long-wearing lip stains first came on the beauty scene? Back then we barely knew what to do with those two-sided wands, one with a dry, matte color and the other side with a gloss that made the matte stain more comfortable. That’s exactly what these Liquid Lip Colors are, except the clear gloss isn’t included. Feel free to wear a gloss or balm on top because a) you’ll need it, and b) it makes things look shiny and bright, and that’s a good thing.
While the final results aren’t uncomfortable at all, at least in my opinion, you’ll want to prep your lips with a light layer of a balm beforehand for maximum comfor.
My Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a long-wearing matte lip stain with budget friendly prices, you’re in luck. Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color will do the trick and for just under 3 bucks.
Availability: CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid and stores that carry Wet n Wild products.
