Vanity Fair Bras and Underwear Give a Strong Foundation for Your Wardrobe

It’s official, 2012 is the year of the Great Mommy Makeover. Now that my son is in elementary school, I have no more excuses for schlubbing around in the same old tired wardrobe (note to self: it really is time for me to re-enter society). For a long, long time I went around thinking – who cares, life isn’t a fashion show! Then I read an interview with designer Marc Jacobs where he said we dress to show our respect for other people. At the end of the day, I can get with that concept and want to embrace it. See this photo from a couple of years ago?

That is majorly bad bra action going on. I typically purchase the cheapest that I can find and pay the price with bad fit and broken underwire. My goal is to build a collection of classic staples, clothes I won’t feel ashamed about wearing years from now.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned while making over my wardrobe, it’s that your undergarments are the foundation and just like with makeup, a strong, reliable base is what makes your look work. When I had the chance to try a selection of Vanity Fair® bras from the Modern Coverage Line and undies from the Illumination® Line I was thrilled! And not disappointed! Here are the details on the bras and underwear I’ve been wearing lately.

Bras

Advanced Support Underwire Bra

This is the one I’ve been wearing most often. It’s the perfect bra to wear under T-shirts, provides incredible support, and the wire situation is under control. The biggest problem I have with bras in general is that the underwire almost always sticks right into my skin right away, so it’s a relief not to have to deal with that here.

The straps are thick and supportive, and the detail on the bra is adorable.

Look Lifted (Underwire)

The lace and sparkly details makes this bra even more adorable. Even if only you see your undies, why not make them cute?

Such a pretty bra that helps lift and support, subtly, just as advertised.

Front Close Underwire

I had never used a front-closing bra, but I like it! Eliminates any lumping in the back of your shirts, which is great.

Underwear

I’ve been wearing the Illumination® Hipster, String Bikini, and Hi-Cut underwear on a regular basis, and by and large my favorites are the Hipster and Hi-Cut. Secret confession: I adore grannie panties. Always have, always will. The material of these are thicker than the cotton Hanes I usually wear, and yet not uncomfortable at all and highly breathable. There is no riding up on these either, which is a huge plus.

Vanity Fair® bras and undies are reasonably priced and the quality is fantastic. I love that the material is strong and durable enough to survive any crazy day. I’m ready to get this Mommy Makeover on the road!
