Valentine’s Day 2017 is tomorrow and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to not only put together a pretty and fun eyeshadow tutorial, but I also was itching to put my new video-enabled camera to the test and create my first official makeup video.
And, no, true to form I haven’t taken the time to really understand my camera, I just went for it. Little known fact, my life motto could be, “I think you should just go for it!”. It works, the vast majority of the time!
I’ve had Make Up For Ever M846 eyeshadow on my mind and I knew I wanted to create something with this very pretty burgundy eyeshadow. I used a mixture of products to create a very pretty and easy look that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day. I started off this look with a matte mauve eyeshadow from the Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Volume 4 which I blended into my crease with a fluffy brush (Coastal Scents Pro Fluff Brush or MAC 217).
Then, I used a flat brush (MAC 239) to apply Make Up For Ever M846 Morello Cherry eyeshadow in the inner corner, outer corner, and crease to create a halo effect.
I blended the color with another fluffy brush and made sure to blend thoroughly.
Next, I used a flat brush to apply Make Up For Ever Star Powder 13 on the middle of my lids.
I used a small pencil brush to apply Make Up For Ever Star Powder 02.
I finished the look by blending the shadows with a clean fully brush, and then added a matte cream from Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Number 4 in the browbone.
For the final touch, I used Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, L’Oreal Voluminous Feline mascara, ColourPop Dope Taupe brow pencil and NYX Blonde Brow Gel. On my lips are Make Up For Ever High Precision Lip Pencil No. 2 and Make Up For Ever Acrylips 401.
For your viewing pleasure, here is the very first eyeshadow tutorial I’ve posted in a quick minute! You’ll have to forgive the lack of pretty music and of various clanking noises in the background, which I will remove shortly.
This Valentine’s season I’ve had fun playing Cupid and have puposed to spread love and Valentine’s cheer. Kind of like Buddy the Elf, you know? Ha ha. On Valentine’s Day I’m treating my son to some sweets and will treat myself to some uninterrupted Netflix watching. I attempted to watch Santa Clarita Diet this weekend but the gore was just way too much for me. I ended up watching Finding Dory and was laughing out loud (for serious) at the end. Cute movie!
Here’s to a happy Valentine’s Day for all!
