Having a November birthday that coincides with the Holiday season is my excuse for making a couple of splurges this time of year. After holding out for months I am so thrilled to have the Urban Decay Smoked palette in my hands!
A set of 10 shadows that make for perfectly smoky eyes, this adorably zippered shadow collection also comes with a generously sized mirror, a full size of UD’s Perversion 24/7 Glide On Pencil, a mini size of Primer Potion, and a handy inspiration booklet.
This shadow set has a nice blend of mattes, dark smoky colors, and jewel-toned shades. The shades, from left to right are:
- Kinky: Matte bone
- Freestyle: Matte light brown
- Mushroom: Shimmery taupe
- Backdoor: Matte dark brown
- Blackout: Matte black
- Barlust: Shimmery medium brown
- Rockstar: Shimmery medium purple
- Evidence: Shimmery electric blue
- Loaded: Shimmery forest green
- Asphalt: Shimmery dark grey
As for the pigmentation? Out of this world! These shadow are soft, buttery, and blend beautifully. I’ve been a devotee of Urban Decay’s Zero pencil and was pleasantly surprised to see that Perversion is an even darker black than Zero. It’s the blackest black liner I’ve ever seen!
The booklet that comes with Smoked is really nicely done, with pretty pictures and full instructions for each look.
For my first of many looks with Smoked, I chose a traditional smoky eye.
I’m officially in love with Smoked. I had a hard time deciding between the original Naked palette and Smoked, and I think I made the right choice. Happy Birth/Mas to me! You can find Urban Decay products at Ulta, Sephora, and online.

Happy birthday!
That’s a beautiful eye look you made.
Thank you!
Great birthday present. I bought this and haven’t used it. I’m so bad!! But now I’m going to get it photographed so I can start using it.
Excellent review, swatches, and EOTD– as always! Happy Birthday, Sheila!!!
Definitely a good choice. Happy birthday.
Thanks, ladies – my favorite splurge yet!
This is a really great mix of colors! I just bought a couple of single shades from them and love their e/s formula!
