Well, this is all kinds of coolness to me right now.
Subscription boxes are a a personal issue of contention at the moment. After the whole Glossybox situation, I’m burned out on them, so much so that I just don’t want give another monthly sample club a second thought. Total Beauty, however, has an ingenious solution that has me turning virtual cartwheels. It’s a different kind of sampling program, as the folks at Total Beauty say.
While Total Beauty has offered a sampling box that does not require a monthly membership since May 2012, the upcoming Revlon collection is the first time full-sized products from a single brand will be offered. Going on sale April 8th, the Total Beauty Collection Revlon Edition is $15 with free shipping. As far as the contents? I have one word: awesome!
Starting with a pamphlet that has makeup tips, always something fun to peruse, this collection is filled with all kinds of goodies that are part of Revlon’s Summer 2013 releases, curated by Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman.
There are two Lip Butters, which are a perpetual favorite. The shades included are Sorbet (left) and Pink Lemonade (right).
Orange polish is in pretty much every Summer collection by every makeup brand. This one is called Sunburst and it is a perfectly lovely cream.
The best part? The Colorstay Shadow quad in Sea Mist, which knocked my socks off.
I really was not expecting this level of pigmentation! Having used Revlon shadows in the past, I found them to be entirely chalky and just plain awful. Revlon must have heard my wails of consternation, because the texture on these shadows is on par with Milani and Wet n Wild, no dampening of shadow brush required.
This is how sampling programs should be done. No committment, and awesome products. Limited quantities of this collection are available, and can be found at TotalBeautyShops.com/collections on April 8th.
