With so many years of makeup and beauty experience under my belt, there are a few things I know to be true and especially this – budget friendly beauty is where it’s at these days! Formulas have improved big time over the last few years, and there really are so many fantastic beauty products available these days that are $5 and under. Today I’m sharing my top 6 favorite beauty products under $5.
First and foremost, elf Cosmetics Makeup Mist & Set, which is $4 and one of the best setting sprays I’ve ever used. It’s multi-functional and can be used to prep your skin for makeup, set your makeup, and also to dampen your makeup brushes if you’re looking to give your eyeshadows extra intenstity.
When it comes to fast drying top coats, look no further than Julie G Jet Set Quick Dry Top Coat ($3.99) – this dries without causing any kind of nail polish shrinkage that I’ve experienced from more expensive brands (ahem, Seche!). Not only does it dry quickly, but it helps my nail polish last for up to a week.
You don’t just need one, you need a few elf Cosmetics Beautifully Precise Eyeshadow Brushes. I mean it! These are $5 and a serious contender for more expensive eyeshadow brushes. I like this for applying color to my lid and for blending my shadow.
Speaking of eyeshadow, the Wet n Wild Color Icon 4 pan and 10 pan palettes are excellent quality and worth collecting.
When it comes to pencils, there are two that I adore. ColourPop Dope Taupe Brow Pencil is $5 and the most perfect neutral and universal brow color that exists. The texture is excellent and it blends in brow hairs perfectly. I will say that I do appreciate the quality of more expensive lip pencils, but at $5 you can’t beat the excellent color that comes from Milani All Natural Lip Pencil.
