The Top 12 Products I’ll Always Repurchase (aka, Holy Grails)

Press Sample I Bought It

By Sheila Arkee

Beauty products come and go, but a holy grail is forever. As long as it’s not discontinued out from under your feet!

Top 12 Holy Grail Beauty Products

As a beauty blogger, I am constantly coming across new makeup, skin, and hair discoveries to the point where I can sometimes barely form attachments to particular types of products. Not that I’m complaining, but it means that when I consistently repurchase something, it has to be a sure winner! Here are 12 of those 5 star beauty products that have earned the designation of “Holy ‘Grail”.

1. DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

This much-loved classic has earned it’s stellar reputation. I call this “liquid gold” because it’s that fabulous and removes your makeup in a snap!

2. L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly

I have multiple tubes of this drugstore bargain mascara at my disposal, because it really and truly works like a charm. Lush lashes are not a problem at all!

3. Zoya Remove Plus Nail Polish Remover

What was I doing before Zoya Remove? I’ve stashpiled backups of this 3-in-1 nail polish remover which has made my polish and glitter removing life a whole lot easier.

4. Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

At this point, the people in my life must be sick of me pulling this out constantly, but a beauty blogger’s gotta do what a beauty blogger’s gotta do to maintain nice nails!

5. Nailtiques Formula 2 Plus

Although I mainly use it as a base coat for my nail polish right now, I’ve been through bottle after bottle after bottle of this miracle product that saved my peeling nails.

6. MAC Blot Powder

While my feelings for MAC are lukewarm (at best), there are a few classic MAC products that I’ll always keep around, Blot Powder being one of them. I’ve yet to find a translucent powder that sets foundation and keeps oilies at bay as well as MAC Blot Powder in Medium Dark.

7. Gel Eyeliners from Urban Decay, NYX, and Rimmel

Buttery smooth gel pencil eyeliners are the way to go for my lids, and the ones from Urban Decay, NYX, and Rimmel are ones I love and appreciate equally. There’s room for all of them in my holy grail list!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Liner favorites: Zero, Smoke, Demolition, Smog, and Empire.

NYX Slide-On Liner favorites:  Green Papaya, Sunrise Blue, and Glitzy Gold.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl favorites: Black, Purple, and Sparkling Black (a MUST!).

8. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towlettes

Neutrogena Wipes

While I’m relatively new to these wonder wipes (and wonder why I was so late to the game), I have backups of these wipes stashed around. Seriously amazing, and they have made the times I collapse into bed so much easier on my skin because it takes less than a minute to remove my makeup.

9. Aquaphor

This multi-tasker is a MUST! From soothing dry skin, healing rough heels, moisturizing lips, and even being used as an eye cream, I can’t live without Aquaphor. Who could?

10. MAC Nymphette

Even though I’ve found a lower priced dupe for this rose gold gloss, I’ll always have a tube of Nymphette on reserve. It’s my favorite gloss and just realized I’ve loved it, cherished it, and recommended it to scores for over a decade.

11. Prestige Primed & Ready Eyeshadow Primer

A lower priced dupe for Too Faced’s Shadow Insurance, this eyeshadow primer is rave worthy and has a steady and reliable place in my makeup kit. It’s that fab!

12. Illuminare Moisturizing Mineral Foundation in Sienna Sun

With unbeatable coverage that photographs incredibly well, I am completely hooked on this Illuminare foundation. It’s simply the best!

  • erikatheicyone

Zoya Remove + rules but it is so pricey. I settle for Beauty Secrets. It does the job. :) I love the Burt’s Bees cuticle butter, Neutrogena makeup wipes and Lash Out Butterfly. UD and Rimmel Scandaleyes liners are cult status in my arsenal. :)

I make the DIY Remove – for the amount of remover I go through, the cost of the real stuff is prohibitive. I do cherish the little samples I get from ordering polish from Zoya, though!
