Quite awhile ago, the very sweet Jen of A Beautyful Sentiment sent me some of Avon’s Ultra Color Rich 24K Gold Lipsticks because I had been really interested in trying them, and I am so glad she did because these have become some of my favorite lipsticks.
What’s good about them? Basically, everything. They’re inexpensive for starters ($8.00), packaged nicely, come in a decent variety of colors, have great pigmentation, feel smooth and light on, are paraben-free and most of all, they remind me of those wonderful Maybelline WetShine Diamonds lipsticks that were discontinued awhile ago. I mourned the loss of those lipsticks, and when I found these, it was definitely a comparable match.
See the gold flecks?
While all of the colors are nice, my very favorite is Golden Rose, which is a melon-y shade with gold flecks in it. Staying power is decent with these. I can expect to get maybe three full hours of wear without significant fading.
