The Real Techniques Foundation Brush is a Win

By Sheila Arkee

Although beauty blogging is a part of my daily life, sometimes I have to sit in amazement at how blogging technology has shifted the beauty world entirely.  We’ve created a core of savvy consumers who know what to buy and where to buy it, and have also seen an emergence of products tailored to these consumers.

A few years ago, a line of makeup brushes created by makeup artists who blog and make instructional videos available for the world was unheard of! And then there came the Pixiwoo duo, who not only took over YouTube by storm, but one half of which – Samantha Chapman – created a highly coveted line of makeup brushes.

Wendy mentioned her love for one of these brushes a few weeks ago, and so I had to find out for myself if it lived up the raves. I went in to an Ulta looking for the Real Techniques Core Set of  brushes, but all I could find was the exact brush Wendy raved about.

It’s an interesting looking brush, a hybrid of several foundation brushes already in my kit. Slanted, thin, and with Taklon bristles, I am happy to report that the brush lives up to its reputation as a fabulous and necessary foundation brush.

The brush reaches into those hard to reach areas with ease, and blends the foundation into your skin flawlessly, leaving an impeccably smooth finish. The brush is easy to wash out, and make sure to reshape the brush while it is drying.

For $7.99, this is a steal and a must for any makeup lover and artist. You can find the Real Techniques Foundation Brush at Ulta.com.

The brush I liked was the stippling brush, but this one looks fab too! I’ve recently started using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush from the Core Collection for foundation and I actually like it better for foundation than powder.

Ladies, she’s not joking when she says that they wash easily!

I started with the blush brush after hearing raves about it and it went downhill from there. LOL I have 2 blush brushes, the foundation brush, the stippling brush, 2 shader brushes, the starter set and the travel set. Needless to say, they’re awesome. :D

I lucked into the blush brush when I was at my Ulta the first time. Since then, nada. The only thing that seems to stay in stock of the Real Techniques brushes is the lash/comb brush.

That is the only brush that was left at my Ulta, too!!!!
