The Ordinary isn’t a new skincare brand, but I’m just starting to get my feet wet with their skincare products. The founder of the company, Brandon Truaxe, sadly passed away last month and left behind an incredible legacy. All The Ordinary skincare products are extremely well priced, with many full sized products costing well under $10.
The Ordinary is what you’d call an industry disruptor. Similar to ColourPop, they offer high quality products at a fraction of the cost of other brands. Estee Lauder acquired a majority stake in The Ordinary and today you can find the products sold at Sephora.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about The Ordinary skincare and so far my experience with The Ordinary skincare matches up with those expectations. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is designed for all skin types and is vegan, cruelty-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free, nut-free, gluten-free, and fragrance-free. I try to avoid silicone in my skincare and makeup so this is automatically a win.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% reduces skin blemishes and congestion with 10% Vitamin B3, aka Niacinamide. Zinc PCA helps reduce sebum production, aka oily skin. I’ve been using this product before my moisturizer in the morning and am entirely impressed by how well it keeps my skin together all day. It was recommended to me for this purpose, and it works quite well!
My Final Thoughts: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is my oily skin’s new BFF. I’m going to have to add it to this list!
