As a beauty industry fanatic, I was very excited to learn more about their skincare offerings, and to have a chance to meet Dr. Howard Murad, the dermatologist behind the world-famous brand. What I didn’t realize is that I would be leaving the state-of-the-art offices with a new perspective not only regarding skincare, but on my basic overall sense of well-being and health.
The flawless facilities include a gym, pilates studio, a full medical spa, and also Dr. Murad’s practice. Yes, he is still seeing patients on a daily basis!

As a dermatogist, Dr. Murad does not treat skin conditions and aging in isolation – he takes a holistic view on other areas of the body that may be suffering, and it’s this practice that led to development of the Inclusive Heath program.
The Inclusive Health program is based on scientific research that shows all of our cells are connected, and that aging is related to the ability of our cells to hold water. The less water your cells can hold, the less healthy you are as a result. The goal of the Inclusive Health program is to maintain the integrity of every one of your cells by promoting a completely healthy lifestyle, from bottom to top, inside and outside.
When you go to Murad for your consultation, you meet with an Inclusive Health Practitioner who has gone through rigorous training. They do a number of tests on you, ask you some questions about your lifestyle, and send you home with all of the tools you need to get on the track to better overall health. I received suggestions for exercise, skincare, vitamins, and information about the Pitcher of Health eating plan which emphasizes raw fruits, raw vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and proteins. You can go in for follow-up visits, and your Practitioner is available for your questions around the clock.
One thing I especially liked about the consultation was the fact that they urge you to take care of your spiritual health as well as your physical health. My Practitioner told me to write down three things that made me happy at the end of every day. Now, that is a wonderful idea, and one that I’ve been utilizing ever since.
What I took home from my trip to Murad is as follows:
- The entire Murad staff are not only extremely nice, they all have flawless skin.
- Dr. Murad is extremely down to earth, kind, very well informed, and has the best skin I have ever seen. The proof is in the pudding, so we all need to listen to him.
- I really need to take better care of myself.
- I saw the aged version of myself. They have a Vizio machine that takes a photo of your face and analyzes your skin in every which way possible. The results show you what you will look like if you don’t take care of your skin as well as the current condition of your skin.I found out that I have 2,662 enlarged pores and 67 wrinkles. This is fascinating stuff!
In the time since my visit, I’ve been following the Inclusive Health program to great success. My skin, which was previously flaky and dry has improved since I’ve been using Murad skin care for my skin type, eating better, making an effort to exercise more, and get to bed at a decent time. I didn’t realize how few raw fruits and vegetables were in my diet!
If you are in a position where you feel like you need help getting to the next level in terms of your skincare and overall health, I believe that an Inclusive Health consultation is absolutely worth every single penny. An investment in your health is not something to overlook.
The Inclusive Health program is limited to El Segundo and a handful of hospitals throughout the US, but there are plans to expand the program in the future. To find out more about the Murad inclusive health program, visit their website www.muradspa.com.
Murad products are available at Murad.com, Sephora, Ulta and other specialty beauty and skincare retailers.

I’m glad you had a fun time, but it sounds to me like they made you feel bad about your skin (and yourself in general) in order to get you to buy their products. Sorry, I don’t fall for that kind of sales tatic. Who wants to hear that they have 2,662 enlarged pores? What does that even mean?
To be completely honest, as I am with everything on Painted Ladies, that was not the case. The team at Murad never pressured me to buy anything and did not make me feel bad about my results.
It was hard to see how far I have to go to be in better health, but I do feel a lot more informed, and knowledge really is, as they say, power.
My total health score was 50%, and their response was – that’s average, that’s not bad. It could be a lot better, but at no point was I made to feel like I was a horrible person for being not at my optimal self.
They were all very nurturing, very kind, and if anything, I learned a lot about where I am healthwise, and left with some great tools to become a better version of myself.
Like I said, I think this is a great program for people who need that little bit of extra help for getting to that next level in their lives. That doesn’t mean it’s for everyone, but it’s good to know that this service is around.
That’s good to hear!
…but I still think your pores are fine
I couldn’t do the vizio machine.
I would obsess over the 2662 enlarged pores. Kind of like how I never weigh myself.
@Miss Boom & Ninjagato – You should see the wrinkle picture!!! LOLOL …
