If you haven’t guessed by now, I’m a bit of a skin peel fanatic. And I never thought I would be! It all goes to show you that things can change, and in a good way. The gentle, at-home chemical peels I’ve used in recent times have worked wonders to repair damage to my skin and keep it looking its best. I’ve been trying out a new peel as well as a new eye cream from The Body Shop that both get high marks in my ever expanding beauty blogger book of beauty reviews.
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Youth Liquid Peel ($25) and The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-Gel ($32) are both new products that are great additions to The Body Shop’s lineup of skincare. As a longtime fan of The Body Shop, I’m delighted to see how this brand is expanding as of late with high quality makeup and skincare products.
Similar to the Dermalogica peel I featured earlier this week, Drops of Youth Youth Liquid Peel is a very gentle peel you can use 2 – 3 times a week that’s designed to cleanse your skin from impurities picked up from air pollution. It’s one of the coolest peels I’ve ever used, because your dead skin cells actually clump up after you’ve smoothed it over cleansed and dried skin for about 20 seconds. When this happens, rinse your skin and proceed with your skincare routine. One of the key ingredients is Community Trade organic Babassu Oil from Brazil.
As a busy mom who frequently deals with “tired mommy-itis”, I’m all for trying new eye care products. The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-Gel is soothing, revitalizing, illuminating, and most importantly, contains caffeine to help reduce puffy under eyes.
I’m not sure if you can see it in the photo, but this lightweight cream-gel has illuminating micro-pearls, which give it a shimmery appearance.
The micro-pearls aren’t there to just look pretty, in combination with Black Cumin Oil, Rosehip Oil, and Camelia Oil they help refresh the under eye skin area instantly, add hydration and antioxidants. This is really soothing and I’m a fan – it’s definitely got a place in my regular eye cream rotation.
My Final Thoughts: The Body Shop Drops of Youth Youth Liquid Peel and The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-Gel are both top notch skin care products. The peel is very gentle and definitely worth checking out – it’s so cool to see the dead skin cells it removes right before my very eyes!
Rating: A for both products.
Price: $25 (the peel) and $32 (the eye cream-gel)

The Body Shop has some stupendous products as of late. I love the face peel cream thingy. I know a lot of people don’t like it because they can’t wash it off, but you need to use it on dry skin (as it reads in the directions!), and then it washes off easily with no weird residue feeling left behind 🙂
I’m slightly obsessed. lol It’s amazing how smooth it makes your skin!
