The Best of the Cheap: E.L.F.’s Studio “C” Brush

By Sheila Arkee

Lately I’ve been on a major E.L.F. kick. I can’t help but be entirely fascinated by a line of makeup that is so entirely cheap. Prices for their regular line are just $1 per item, and the prices for their Studio line don’t go higher than $3. I also like being able to go into Target, where I find E.L.F. items, and be able to walk out with a whole lotta makeup goodies for very little guilt.

Although there are definitely misses amongst their hits, I’ve generally been impressed by the quality of E.L.F.’s products, and this applies to their Studio Eyeshadow “C” Brush.

My thoughts? Wide and compact, the brush is constructed to firmly place concentrated color onto the lid or crease. However, the brush is not so great with blending, so I would use a specific blending brush with looser bristles to make sure your shadow colors meld together.

The “C” brush gets 5/5 stars for ease of use and the fantastic price — for $3, its hard to beat this kind of deal!

  • Thanks for sharing this. I always thought that because the brushes were so cheap that the quality was as well and I didn’t want to try them.

For $3, I’m headed to the drug store :-)

  • I use the Essentials line ($1) C brush and LOVE it. I haven’t used any of the Studio line (haven’t needed to – I’m crazy for the Essentials). Glad e.l.f. is finally gettin’ some love. *\o/*

I have 2 ELF brushes and the lash curler.
I use the C brush for packing on color to the lids and applying color to the crease to be blended with a fluffier brush.
The foundation brush is too flimsy to work for foundation, but I like it for applying moisturizers.

I’m really impressed by the brushes! This line definitely deserves much love!

  • HUGE e.l.f. fan, right here! They definitely have a few misses (all brands do IMO), but for the quality and price – you CANNOT do better.
