Being the Holiday season, the months of November and December tend to be a “treat yo’ self!” time of the year. One of my recent treats is the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Eye Shadow Palette, and I sure am glad I indulged because it is FABULOUS.
Let’s just get that part out of the way now – it really is quite a winner.
It’s also the time of year when coupon codes are in abundance, so I purchased this palette with the annual coupon codes that are released by Sephora. If you’re not signed up for the Sephora Beauty Insider program, it’s a great program where you can earn samples based on your purchases, get sweet birthday gifts, and depending on your level of spending, you get a coupon code for $15, $20, or $25 off of a purchase $50 or over.
It was love at first sight when I first saw mentions of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Eye Shadow Palette on social media, so I knew I had to have it in my life, if only for the vivid and rich purple that’s in this set of 14 colors.
The purple does not disappoint whatsoever. Because purple shadows have a lot of red, the texture can be sometimes difficult to pin down but this one is entirely smooth sailing, as are the rest of the shadows in this palette. To me these shadows seem like pressed pigments and are all rich in color.
The palette also comes with a dual-ended brush.
One end is a nice blender.
And the other side is nice for patting the color on your eyelids.
Here’s a closer look at the colors.
There are no duds in this set, and I find each and every single shadow is easy to blend. If anything, a few of the colors might be a little bit too soft and powdery, so be careful when handling this palette.
My Final Thoughts: I have nothing bad to say about this set of shadows, and it might just be the best eyeshadow palette I’ve seen from Anastasia Beverly Hills. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Eye Shadow Palette is a must for color lovers and at $35 it’s a great deal!
