St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, meaning it’s time for the wearing of the green. Green happens to be one of my favorite colors and I always have fun coming up with a makeup look for the event. Today I have a St. Patrick’s Day green eyeshadow makeup tutorial for you, which even includes an homage to a pot o’ gold!
In a few easy steps, you’ll be super festive and ready to celebrate the day in style.
Step 1: I use a blending brush like the Coastal Scents Pro Fluff brush to apply a medium brown shade in the crease of my lid. I have slightly hooded lids so this contouring helps give my eyes the illusion of dimension. I call it the Coastal Scents Pro Fluff brush, but it’s really a similar looking brush that’s in the Smashbox Full Exposure palette.
Step 2: Using a flat brush like the double-sided brush from the Smashbox full Exposure palette, I apply a khaki green to the outer corner of my lids. Keep building up the color in the shape of a < or > symbol and blend, blend, blend.
Step 3: Keep blending. And blend some more! I use a clean blending brush to build and blend the color up as much.
Step 4: Use a flat brush like the MAC 242 brush to apply a kelly green shadow to your eyelid. Don’t blend, pat the color on. For maximum opacity, I’ll pat a touch of eyeshadow on with the pad of my ring finger.
I also go back over the khaki shadow to make sure it’s blended in well with the kelly green lid color.
Step 5: Finish the eye with a matte cream color on the browbone.
Step 6: Add a gold shadow to your lower lids with a pencil brush.
Step 7: Add liner, mascara, brows, and you’re done!
Here are the makeup products I used to create this look:
- Crease: Makeup Geek Frappe eyeshadow
- Outer Corner: Milani Bella Khaki eyeshadow
- Lid: Tarina Tarantino Sweetzer eyeshadow
- Browbone: MAC Vanilla eyeshadow
- Lower Lid: OCC Flawed Pigment
- Liner: Rimmel Soft Kohl in Jet Black
- Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational
