Sante America Natural Makeup – New to the US!

By Sheila Arkee

Sante America cosmetics are new to the USA, but have been a longtime staple in European countries. A natural and affordable cosmetics line, all of Sante’s products are botanical-based, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and lacking synthetic coloring agents, petro-chemicals, fragrances, or preservatives.

Sounds great, right? The real question here is how do these products perform? Will they stand up to my stringent standards where it comes to pigmentation and payoff?

The news is good – I am officially a  fan of the Sante America products I’ve tried so far, namely their Eyeshadow Trio No. 6. Packaged in a sleek, sexy compact, the Sante eyeshadows are highly pigmented and smooth. Just look at the colors- beautiful!

These shadows deliver shimmer and staying power, and besides that, the colors in this particular palette are GORGEOUS. They have definitely earned a spot in my regular shadow rotation.

I also tried their eyeliner pencil, which was good, but I’m not as enthused about it’s performance, to be perfectly honest. As far as the pencil goes, I love the color, but I will say that the texture is not as creamy as I’m accustomed to with MAC Kohls. It’s a little harder to work with, but I think if you warm up the pencil it might apply a little more smoothly.

As far as prices go, I’d say they are very reasonable, and not that far off from department store brands. Their foundation is $17, their eye pencils are $11, and the shadow trios are $16, which is a STEAL for the quality of the shadows. You can find their products online at santeamerica.com, where they’re offering free shipping with purchases over $50.

In the coming weeks I’ll be reviewing more products from this line. I think it has great potential and I’m looking forward to working with their line a little more!

Um, maybe you mean their prices aren’t that far off from ‘department store’ brands? I’ve never seen a $17 foundation in a drugstore! (You’re right about the eye trio though – those colors look soooo good on you!)
