A New Favorite For My Lashes: Rimmel Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara

If you’ve been following 365 Days of Makeup recently, you’ve most likely seen me trying a slew of mascaras by Rimmel. As I’ve been making my way through their mascaras I’ve found some that I love, some that I’m lukewarm about, and at least one I never want to discuss!

Today’s featured mascara is one that shocked me … in a good way! I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting a whole lot, but managed to fall in love at first swipe I fell for Rimmel’s Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara, which offers volume, separation, and full lashes that remain soft due to Lycra technology. The bristle brush is a Max Density brush that offers superior plumping and volume.

If there’s one thing I’ve realized in my lifelong journey with mascara, it’s that I prefer a bristle over a plastic brush. While superior results can be had with plastic brushes, my lashes respond the best with bristles that promote volume rather than lengthening.

The results of this mascara were really impressive right off the bat. While I try to give mascaras a two-week window before passing final judgment, I love when you get great results on the first application. Rimmel Scandaleyes Lycra Flex gives my lashes really nice volume and separation.

When I was first applying the Rimmel mascara, the results reminded me of L’Oreal’s Power Volume Collagen mascara, so I decided to take a look back. There is definitely a similarity, and while the Rimmel version is great, I think the L’Oreal mascara edges it out just a little bit.

The verdict? Rimmel’s Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara is a budget-friendly mascara that makes your lashes look plump and lasts all day without smudging or clumping and can be removed with ease. Priced at around $7, it’s definitely worth trying!

I didn’t have high hopes for this either, but I’m really enjoying it. Most drugstore mascaras make my lashes crunchy, but not this one!

OK..now I have to try BOTH! L’Oreal mascaras have always smudged on me in the past (when I have worn Voluminous, my students always ask me if I have been crying by the time 6th or 7th period roll around), but I will give this new one a go. Rimmel’s Glam Lash was one of my faves for a year or so…my current favorite is Cover Girl Lash Perfection (I like a fairly skinny wand with a pointed tip). Your lashes look great in these pics!
