The Bellabe facial hair remover is a new discovery for me. I found it randomly one day through this very informative YouTube video where a girl demonstrates how to use it. According to their website, “the BellabeTM facial hair removal system offers the easiest and fastest way to remove unwanted facial hair without waxing, bleaching, tweezing or shaving. Originally designed based on the ancient art of threading hair removal used by Asians for centuries, the unique spring action does not use any thread, but yet removes unwanted facial hair from the roots quickly and effectively.”
I can say for certain that Bellabe’s claims are definitely not embellished. It does exactly what they say it will do, and does a great job of it. I’m not very hairy, but hate that peach fuzz that grows under the lip, and do have a bit of light hair on my upper lip as well, and Bellabe made quick work of it. Just to try it out, I also did my face, and within 30 minutes, I was almost completely hair-free, save for those microscopic hairs that not even tweezers can touch! All it took was bending it into an upside-down U while taking the little handles and rolling them inwards as I went across my face.
The pain factor depends. On my cheeks, it didn’t hurt very much at all, but it definitely smarted when I did the upper and lower lip areas. It certainly wasn’t intolerable, and was probably less painful than getting my brows waxed.
You’re not going to want to use Bellabe on your eyebrows, because you won’t have the precision needed for shaping them, but for anywhere else on your face, this little gadget works like a charm. It’s also not intended for body hair use.
Cleaning it has been difficult for me. It says to simply stretch it a bit and blow through the coils, but I find the hair sticks. Even though the brochure said not to, I rinsed it under water and dried it very thoroughly. Thankfully it hasn’t caused any problems.
You can purchase Bellabe for $16.99 with free shipping within the US on their website, www.facialhairthreading.com.
