I was drawn to this pencil because of its gorgeous green shade, and the 50% off price tag was pretty sweet too. I have had success in the past with L’Oréal products, and this one was no exception.
This particular shade is called Emerald, which describes it perfectly. It is a rich, shimmery emerald green. It is quite pigmented. The swatch I did was a one swipe swatch. The pencil is nice and soft, so it glides right across the skin. I love pencils that don’t grip my eyelids. I prefer to wear colored liners like this with neutral eyes.
I haven’t tested this out as a base, but I would imagine it would work great for that. Use a primer though. This isn’t totally smudge proof, and I would bet money that without a primer it would crease. It didn’t smudge on me when I curled my lashes, but I gave it a few minutes after applying to do it.
The color lasts until you take it off. It comes off easily enough. I use oil to remove my makeup, so if you are a cleanser only type of gal I am not sure if this will come off with that alone. I use waterproof mascara, so I always remove my eye makeup with oil.
Overall I really like this. It is no more smudgey than my Urban Decay 24/7 liners, so that doesn’t bother me since it is fine as long as I don’t rub my eyes. If I had to rate it on a scale of 1 to 5, it would be a 4 only because it isn’t totally smudge proof.
