Product: Win – L’oreal True Match Roller Foundation

By Sheila

I know what you’re all thinking right now: “How many foundations can one person have? This is ridiculous, Sheila!”

Yes, it’s true, my collection of various foundations is exploding, but it’s something I need to invest in, right? That’s a beauty bloggers job!

So, reading our rave reviews about this new foundation with a unique applicator, I decided to invest in one. I picked up shade N3 at my local Target only because it was the only shade left that looked like it might be right for my particular skin type.

Upons arrival at home, the foundation was immediatly tried on and declared a WIN! It’s a really nifty concept – you roll a sponge over the foundation until it’s nicely coated, and then smooth the foundation over your skin.

There are a couple of let downs, one of which is the roller sponge – shouldn’t it be replaced at some point? If so, where do you go to pick one up. Also, that roller is pretty hard to get in between the nooks and crannies of your face and some small spaces.

In a couple of areas I had to go over and smoothe with a sponge, but otherwise, I find the finish to be spectacular. My skin looked incredible and non-makeup-y.

You can find this foundation at your local mass drugstore. While it’s usually marked at around $14.95, I found it at my Target for $12.95.

However, overall, it’s fantastic!  Win, win, win!

I’ve been surprised by the number of positive reviews of this product. I honestly thought it was going to be ridiculous gimmick that wouldn’t work.
You hit on one of the major problems that seems to occur when cosmetic companies release foundations with gimmicky applicators. They need to be replaced but the company doesn’t offer replacements. I wanted to try that Lancome foundation with the vibrating puff, but the company hasn’t put out replacements for the puff yet.

Hmmmm, why not just use one of the Beauty Blender sponges or Sonia Kushak (?). It just seems to be if the formula is what’s so great and the roller thing is just a sponge then any beauty sponge would work once the roller thingy. I’m really skittish about foundations. Especially drug store.

    That’s actually a great idea …. I’ll try the beauty blender. :)
