elf Cosmetics recently sent over a Summer time makeup care package filled with some lovely goodies that will surely get lots of play over the next few weeks. I see lots of pretty and fresh makeup looks in my near future!
Here’s the thing with elf Cosmetics, which overall really is a decent budget friendly beauty brand.
Some of their products are indeed high performers and you really can’t get over how something so, so, so cheap is so, so, so good. Most of their products are well under $10 and you can really afford to splurge! On the other had, some of their stuff is just not that great, and at the same time you can’t really complain because you didn’t spend that much money!
Let’s take a look at a few products that I’m truly enjoying right now. The elf Cosmetics Lip Lacquers are from the basic elf Essentials line, very good, and shockingly priced at $2 each.
They aren’t too sticky, have high shine, and are made even more awesome with a Primer you can use first to extend the wear. This is Tea Rose and Praline and you bet I’ll be grabbing more! There are nine shades to choose from.
The elf Beautifully Bare Highlighter Stick ($4) in Champagne Glow is an excellent way to add some glow! There are two other shades in this collection.
I am really liking the texture and smooth gold shimmer from this nifty little stick which I placed on the high planes of my cheeks, down the middle of my nose and Cupid’s bow
This is a swatch next to the lacquers and the equally nifty elf Cosmetics Waterproof Liquid Liner.
The liquid liner has one of the sharpest brush applicators I’ve ever seen and I’m not hating it! That’s a surprise to me because I haven’t been fond of other elf liquid liners in the past. I have to confess I did the makeup for this post when I was beyond exhausted, so I wasn’t very surprised when this happened!
Actually the liner does dry down fairly quickly, just be careful!
I’m a fan of the elf Blending Sponge, which is soft and works well it’s a little too cumbersome to fit under my eyes, which is it’s only downfall. Just like the Beauty Blender, you soak it with water and squeeze out the excess for foundation blending perfection.
My Final Thoughts: What a great selection of products from elf Cosmetics! I’ll be looking for more Lio Lacquers – they’re great!
