Painted Ladies Approved: Clumps of Mascara

We here at Painted Ladies are in awe of so many of our colleagues — there are so many amazing beauty bloggers who are committed to bringing current information to their readers on a daily basis, each adding their own style to their writing, creating a community amongst their readers, and bringing together people who are equally as passionate about makeup.

Brittany from Clumps of Mascara caught our attention a while ago;  she is genuine, funny, and her passion for makeup shines right through. Brittany, you are a shining star! When we decided to roll out our “Painted Ladies Approved” section, there was zero doubt that Brittany from Clumps of Mascara was our very enthusiastic first choice.

Lucky for all of us, she took some time to answer some questions about being a blogger:

Painted Ladies: How long have you been blogging?

Brittany: I’ve been blogging for 2 years.

PL: Why did you decide to create a beauty blog?

B: I started “Clumps” because I was bored. It’s true. During the last semester of my senior year I got insanely obsessed with make-up. I wanted a platform in which I could track my journey and findings. So I started a blog. I never intended for anyone else to read it so I am shocked that I’ve made it this long.

PL: What is your blog’s focus?

B: Lipstick! No, I’m kidding. The name definitely gives it away. I love mascara and I love sharing my reviews with ladies everywhere. I also focus on beauty for women of color.

PL: What is one of the best things you’ve learned since being a blogger.

B: Aside from being loving mascara, Clumps of Mascara also means accepting your flaws. I have learned and challenge my readers to learn that truly loving who you are can make such a difference in your life.
