It wasn’t all that long ago I was ranting about the state of budget-friendly concealers. In particular, about the lack of appropriately toned concealers that banish black circles, which is most effectively done with a dose of pink. Well, here I am, eating my words because I have indeed managed to find a pink-toned concealer for under $5. As usual, I have to thank a reader for alerting me to NYX’s options, which include their Incredible Waterproof Concealer Stick in Glow, CS06.
Glow is described as “a medium beige, with beige undertones”. The stick, which retails for all of $5, has quite a bit of product that can be rolled up from the container as needed. Just don’t roll it all the way up, like in this photo, because you’ll lose it all!
In a side-by-side comparison with the other concealers I have been using of late, you can definitely see the pink undertone with the NYX Concealer Stick. NYX looks like it’s closest to Painted Earth’s concealer which is my current staple.
In a side-by-side demonstration with MAC’s Studio Select concealer in NW25, NYX’s Concealer Stick holds its own and performs really well, even a little better than my long-time grail item by MAC.
As far as the product application, I found it very easy to use – the product glides on, blends well, stays put, and it’s buildable. For $5, it’s a must-try with 11 colors to choose from.
You can find NYX Waterproof Concealer at Ulta stores and online.
