NYX Cosmetics Names CharismaStar the Beauty Vlogger of the Year

Before I spill the details on this special makeup event, I have to say that I think it is SUPER cool this whole shindig went down. 

On Sunday, June 24th, NYX Cosmetics presented the Fine Artistry of Cosmetic Elites (FACE) Awards – a YouTube competition held during IMATS to name the Beauty Vlogger of the Year. During the live runway finale, Emceed by Perez Hilton and judged by Celebrity Makeup Artist Scott Barnes (among others), CharismaStar (Charis Amber Lincoln) was crowned the winner, taking home a prize of $25,000!

The FACE Awards kicked off on March 6 with an open call for entries, naming the initial 30 contestants who then went through numerous challenges – which were voted on by the public – to narrow down to the final six who were flown to Los Angeles. On Sunday, June 24th these final six contestants competed in a live runway competition and presented their final runway looks. A panel of five top industry influencers  – Toni Ko (Founder and Creative Chief Officer of NYX Cosmetics), Scott Barnes (Celebrity Makeup Artist), Nils Johnson (CEO and Co-Founder of Beautylish), Michael Cain (Director of Education Macadamia Natural Oil), and Tim Lusher (General Manager of Westin Hotels) – judged the final runway event and named CharismaStar the Beauty Vlogger of the Year.

 The contestants were evaluated on categories such as presentation, artistry, composition, technique, and innovation. The winner, CharismaStar takes home a cash prize of $25,000, as well as gains access to influential beauty insiders, including a day shadowing Celebrity Makeup Artist and Judge, Scott Barnes. The five runners up (Beautyliciousinsider (Chelsea Crockett), Goldie Starling (Angela Davis), iWanted2C1Video (Bethany Alviles), ProMUAnetwork (Lisa Her), and Sabs Beauty (Sabrina Novenschi) received a year’s worth of NYX Cosmetics.

CharismaStar created a gorgeous look and I am in utter awe of her prize. Congratulations, girl – you did a fabulous job! And I love that besides having all this makeup talent, she is an amazing person – not only is she a drummer in a band with her hubby,  she and her husband moved to Alaska to open a Christian Mission with a focus on suicide prevention.
