The NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation featured in this post was purchased by me. All opinions are 100% my own.
Hello, and happy Monday, dear readers. It’s Sheila, your roving beauty blogger reporting for duty fresh from the front lines of new beauty releases as seen at Ulta. On a recent trip I happened upon the brand new NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation and I had to try it! For a variety of reasons I’m both impressed and unimpressed – you’ll see why shortly!
I’m going to be honest and tell you that whenever I see terminology that includes matte, long-lasting, etc., I’m immediately suspicious. And it’s because this usually means dimethicone is involved – sure enough it is in this particular foundation. Dimethicone is a cheap filler that can be found in many mattifying products. It works, but it doesn’t work with all skin types, mine included! At $14 this is a bit more expensive that I’d expect from NYX, although I have to admit the prices of new NYX products are slowly creeping up from budget friendly to mid-range. I also have to admit I haven’t been truly loving many of the new releases, but, as always, I do love to try the latest and greatest.
NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation comes with a handy pump applicator, which is always a welcome feature with any foundation.
There are 45 shades in this range which is much appreciated! I love that the colors are categories into cool, warm and neutral picks, as orginated by MAC way back in the day. The display for NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation at my local Ulta store had images of people for every color available which did help me pinpoint my best match. Also, there are testers which makes a huge positive difference in making that best match happen. I ended up with Neutral Tan which is a good match for my skin tone..
After giving NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation a test drive, I have to say it not my perfect match! Ultimately, the foundtion just doesn’t work with my normal-to-oily skin tone. My forehead becomes an oily skin zone after just a couple of hours of wear. It couldn’t and wouldn’t stop the oil from coming through! It does photograph beautifully, but just not my perfect match. #dimethiconewoes
My Final Thoughts: NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation offers great, full coverage that photographs beautifully, but ultimately it just doesn’t work well with my normal-to-oily skin, so it’s a pass for me!
