The Sunday I marched into Ulta, child bribed with a lollipop in hand, I was on a mission. Having heard nothing but good stuff about NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss, I decided to make one mine and their current offer for buy one, get a concealer, lip, or eyeshadow 50% off was too good to pass up.
That’s how I ended up falling in love with NYX Butter Gloss in Peaches and Cream. Priced at $4.99, you’d swear you were putting something at least 3 times more expensive on your lips.
The gloss comes with a doe foot applicator and can be worn on top of a lipstick, but it is so opaque you really don’t need to wear anything else.
The color is gorgeous, just a perfect peachy shade that stays on your lips, not everywhere else! It has a pleasant vanilla scent that I didn’t find annoying at all.
My one complaint? Nothing by NYX is shrink-wrapped to prevent contamination from other shoppers, and after my recent adventures in Walmart, you know how I feel about that.
My Final Thoughts: Silky smooth, shimmer-free, pigmented, and long-wearing, Butter Gloss is a home run in the budget-friendly lip product department. The vanilla scent is sweet, but not cloying, and Peaches and Cream is now one of my go-to’s for a peachy gloss.
Rating: A -, because it really should be sold with some kind of a shrink wrap around it.
Price: $4.99, available in-stores and online at Ulta.
