Well, well, well. Lookie what I found while on my recent makeup excursions.
Priced at the extremely affordable price of $0.99, what looks like a pretty near duplicate of the famous MAC 239 brush from Wet n Wild’s new Spring collection.
Ever since photos of the seemingly epic new Spring leases by Wet n Wild leaked onto the beauty blogosphere, I’ve been on a mad hunt trying to locate their new 8-pan palettes to absolutely no avail. The ladies at my local CVS stores and Walgreens are well aware of my predicament, and apparently I’m not the only beauty junkie in this situation. Makeup addiction shouldn’t be such a wild goose chase, but I guess that’s part of the thrill!
Side-by-side, the Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Brush and MAC’s 239 brush look very similar to each other.
In fact, besides the obvious difference in the color of the bristles, the only big difference is that the Wet n Wild brush is slightly larger than the MAC version. Both are made from animal hair, I’m guessing goat for Wet n Wild’s, as that is what the MAC is made from.
After I washed Wet n Wild’s brush and let it dry, I found it to be an extremely soft and supple brush. While it’s not quite as firm as MAC’s 239, the performance of Wet n Wild’s brush is fantastic. It blends shadow perfectly on the lid and into the crease. I’m super impressed and will definitely grab a few more.
My Final Thoughts: At a mere $0.99, Wet n Wild’s Eyeshadow Brush is THE brush deal of 2014. While it’s not an exact dupe of the MAC 239 brush, this is very, very close, and definitely worth hunting down. Get a couple while you’re at it!
Availability: Mass market retailers such as CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens.
