Milani Cream-to-Powder Foundation

By Sheila Arkee

Milani Cosmetics has won my heart with a line of budget-friendly makeup that is just as good quality as anything you’d find in Sephora, in fact even better sometimes. After trying and falling in love with their Even-Touch Powder Foundation recently, I was looking forward to trying their Cream-to-Powder foundation in Medium Beige.

The gold compact is sturdy and holds a silky smooth, oil-free foundation. It really is incredibly smooth and although it goes on really well that sponge that comes with the compact, I prefer using the Real Techniques Foundation Brush for a totally even, airbrushed effect.

Medium Beige is perfect for my skin, and it wears really well throughout the day with the added bonus that I don’t feel the need to touch up with powder. If you have oily skin, you know how it goes with foundations that oxidize to some kind of funky orange shade, which thankfully doesn’t happen with this cream-to-powder base.

The finish is absolutely gorgeous – I’m in love and this foundation is a keeper! If MAC’s Studio Tech and Milani’s Cream-to-Powder were engaged in a death match, Milani would win by a landslide.  There is only one minor issue, which is one  that I experience all cream-to-powders, which is a little bit of flakiness around my nose. The solution? A bit of moisturizer mixed with the base does the trick.

Although I have normal-to-oily skin and can wear this foundation, you might like it better if you have skin that is more on the normal-to-dry or combo side.

Priced at $7.99, Milani Cream-to-Powder foundation is definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re a fan of cream-to-powder bases. You can find Milani at select drugstores and online.
