The Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder featured in this post was purchased by me. All opinions are 100% my own.
Well, well, well, Maybelline. There you go, once again, giving me a run for my money. I’ve been using the new Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder lately and have to say, I’m definitely impressed with the results.
As a beauty blogger and beauty influencer, I can personally vouch for the fact that influencer marketing works, because I made a point to purchase this powder after reading another beauty influencer’s raves. I love setting my makeup with loose powder and I’m definitely up for trying anything that’s easy to procure.
While Maybelline and I had some rough feelings for a while on account of my results with Great Lash Mascara (not good!), Maybelline has definitely stepped up their game lately and I’m really impressed with what I’ve tried from this budget friendly beauty brand we’ve all experienced at one point or another. From their Big Shot Mascara to their SuperStay Matte Ink, the results I’ve gotten from their new releases have been great!
Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder comes in 8 shades from Fair to Dark and I have to say the names are a bit deceptive. I’m not typically “Light” in any foundation or powder, but the Medium in this collection was a bit too dark for my skin tone.
This powder is gorgeous – I’m sincerely impressed with how well it sets my foundation, the matte finish with a slight glow, and the fact that it lasts for a long time. BUT, there’s one issue I’m concerned about. And it’s a pretty big BUT.
You see the ingredients?
Dimethicone is the second ingredient on the list. My skin plus dimethicone equals one big no. Seriously, if I use products with dimethicone on my hair on a regular basis I experience major build up, and if I use any kind of silicone-based primer it’s a sure shot to a breakout. I haven’t been using Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder every day, just once a week at most, and haven’t had a major problem. I think the best approach for me is to use it sparingly and not on a regular basis.
My Final Thoughts: Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder gives a gorgeous finish to makeup. There is one caveat attached to this praise report, which is that it contains dimethicone which can irritate skin.
