When it comes to concealers I have a hard time leaving my comfort zone, which is any MAC concealer as long as its NW25. As I mentioned in Breaking Down Beauty, you need a peachy undertone to eliminate any dark circles, and MAC’s NW range delivers.
Maybelline’s Age Rewind Concealer has good word of mouth, so I was willing to give it a try. The shade selection is limited to light, medium, dark, neutralizer, and a highlighter, so I instinctively went for the pinkest shade I could discern, which was the illuminator.
The packaging is great – you twist the top level to distribute the product which comes up to the sponge tip. You can use the sponge tip directly, but I wouldnt for sanitary reason.
Here is the Maybelline compared to MAC.
The good thing is that the texture is right on target and its very similar to MAC’s
The downside is that the product isn’t much a concealer, but rather an illuminator that can be used on top of a concealed eye.
Final verdict? Not bad and I am looking forward to trying another shade that is closer to my actual color, and not a highlighter. I will keep this one around because I do like the lifting results.
What are your favorite budget brand concealers?

Excellent review, Sheila! This sounds like a real winner! I really like the applicator! Thanks!
I love these! I can wear the brightener as a concealer because I’m whitey mcwhiterson but the actual concealers are really nice too. I like that it doesn’t settle into lines.
Since you liked the formula I’d give one of the actual concealers a shot. I think they have 4 or 5 besides the brightener and the color corrector
Clearly the MAC is a little better but it still did a decent job I wonder if you would have better success with a natural shade.
