Hmmm, what could be inside this elegant package?
Just some highly impressive Mary Kay beauty products that I recently had the chance to review!
It’s been quite a while since I’ve used any Mary Kay products, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I received these Mary Kay items. Spoiler alert – I was very impressed with the color products, which I found to be both high in quality and pigmentation.
I received and reviewed the following Mary Kay products, which were customized to my brown eyes:
- Ultimate Mascara in Black
- Tinted Lip Balm in Rose
- Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush
- Mineral Eye Color in Sienna, Silky Caramel, and Midnight
Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara
Can we say “wow”?
Putting the best for first, I have to tell you that I am officially enamored with the Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara in black. With a short bristles, it packs quite a punch, giving my lashes a very fluttery effect. The Mary Kay mascara offers volume, separation, and does not flake. I found the mascara to provide a bit more volume than MAC’s Opulash, and will definitely include it in upcoming “365 Days of Makeup” looks.
Tinted Lip Balm in Rose
More of a texture of a lipstick, but with a glossy finish, the tinted lip balm slips on your lips and provides a glossy burst of color.
The texture could be a little lighter, but all in all it’s a nice lip product that is easy to tote and would look gorgeous on anyone. I would definitely be interested in checking out more shades in these balms.
This lacquered, magnetic compact is customizable and the perfect size to hold a blush and three shadows. There’s a mirror and even a compartment underneath that comes with a mini shadow brush and a mini blush brush. The compact is sleek, elegant, and nice for those times you want to carry some colors with you, but not necessarily bring a larger container.
Now, on to the colors!
Pretty, peachy, and shimmery– I love the fact that the blush shows up on my skin, and it does have great durability. This one is a keeper. Next time I’m going to layer this with a cream blush for an extra punch of color. This would also work great as a highlighting color.
Although I had to work with the blue shadow a little bit to get the look I wanted, I found the shadows to be creamy as all get up, pigmented, and easily blendable. Good job, Mary Kay!
For this look, I used the blue and light cream color on the lid, and used the brown shade under my eyes for a subtle smokey effect.
