Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation Review

By Sheila Arkee

If powder foundations were akin to fairy tales, then Make Up For Ever Pro Finish would be Cinderella’s shoe. It took company creator Dany Sanz 70 tries to find the finished product that met her standards.

Powder foundation has become an integral part of my makeup repetoire of late. The fact that it is flexible, buildable, and fast means only good things for a mom’s busy morning routine. So it is with Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation which has all those qualities with the added bonus of being able to be applied with a dampened sponge for more coverage and a satin finish.

Giving the foundation a few weeks to see exactly how I felt, I can say in no uncertain terms that I  am one satisfied customer. The coverage! The finish! The way it looks flawless in photos! Oh, my!

I had two shades to work with –  #128 on the right, which is my perfect match, and #153. The compact includes a handy sponge in a lower compartment.

The best part is that this is fully customizable – apply with a dry kabuki brush for matte coverage, or as mentioned, with a wet sponge for a more intense, satin finish. If you’re worried about a wet sponge ruining the integrity of the powder, don’t fret. The powder bounces back to its old self in no time flat.

For a comparison, I applied half of my face with Milani’s Even Touch Foundation and the other half with MUFE’s Pro Finish. Both foundations were applied with a dry kabuki brush. Notice that Brobee just had to make a sneak appearance in the photo.

Make Up For Ever is on the left side of the picture, while Milani is on the right hand side. They are both great products, but I found the Make Up For Ever powder to have a lot more coverage than Milani’s.

I absolutely love the finish when this powder is applied with a dry brush with a BB Cream underneath. Sublime! I do notice that I need a dusting of transluscent powder on top to make sure everything melds together, which I don’t need to do with Milani Even Touch. Applied dry or wet, it is never drying or makes my skin feel tight.

Make Up For Ever Pro Finish is paraben-free and retails at $36. You can find this at Sephora.
