Everyone’s saying the 90’s are coming back, but it’s my professional 90’s child opinion that they never really went away! Growing up during that time was a fond memory, and I’ll never forget the greatness of neutral makeup that was so abundant during that decade. The L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Lip Paints bring back that neutral greatness with a modern day makeup upgrade.
Once a neutral lip color lover, always a neutral lip color lover, and I’m really digging these picks. There are 5 liquid lipsticks in this line and today I have 5 to share with you.
From left to right: Cinna-bomb, Velvet Pout, Festival, Tongue Tied, Skinny Dip.
I find that these lipsticks are super smooth, easy to apply and indeed are long-wearing. They have a doe foot wand which makes it easy to apply, but I found that I had to smooth out the lighter colors with my finger.
The two lighter shades (Skinny Dip and Tongue Tied) aren’t the easiest to wear, and you sure better have white teeth when you wear them along! I ended up liking the two light colors blended in with the darker colors. This is Cinna-Bomb with Skinny Dip on top.
Velvet Pout is THE perfect greige.
Festival is a lovely deep peach.
Tongue Tied and Skinny Dip are very close to each other – Tongue Tied is a little bit darker and more peachy than Skinny Dip. As I mentioned, they’re both a bit hard to wear alone and I found that Skinny Dip really enhanced any dry areas on my lips.
My Final Thoughts: Are the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Lip Paints as great as the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink lipsticks I recently reviewed? No – those liquid lipsticks are in a separate class of their own! However, I will say that the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Lip Paints are smooth, easy to blend, and a pretty collection of neutral lip colors.
