And now for a lip product I was expecting to hate. But have utterly fallen in love with. Meet Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rosé Kiss.
Lip Butter is a perfect name because it looks and feels exactly like that – if only it were edible!
I can’t believe I had such a negative impression before even using this balm. You see, I was going in to this product testing thinking it was another Labello/Nivea fiasco. Years ago, the tale of Labello lip balm was often spread around the Internet beauty world. Before blogs were prevalent, I frequented many a beauty forum where this European balm was talked about with such esteem that I lusted for many years wanting to try this elusive product. Eventually it hit the States relabeled as Nivea and when I finally tried the balm I was sorely disappointed. The thin, lightweight balm just wasn’t my thing. So, when I saw these new Nivea lip butters in stores, I was exepecting more of the same disappointment.
But was I ever wrong. These lip butters are definitely something to write home about. Although I really don’t like applying balm from a pot during the day (germs! germs! germs!), I’ve been using this Lip Butter at night or right before I leave home. It’s so nourishing, so creamy, and it stays on your lips for a significant amount of time. What can I say, other than this is love.
Raspberry Rose Kiss, aka a little bit of magic, offers super soft lips with a slight bit of lavender tint. Your lips will love it – guaranteed!
My Final Thoughts: I wasn’t expecting that much going in, but I’ve found Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rosé Kiss to be a nourishing balm that keeps my lips soft and adds a bit of nude lip look. I’m really loving this balm when worn at night or for those times I’m wearing a light makeup look during the day.
Availability: Online and in Ulta stores, as well as all drugstores.
