Isn’t this sponge adorable? It’s so cute and unique! Unlike the egg shaped Beautyblender, the Juno and Co sponge has a flat bottom as well as a flat face. These are both useful features that allow you better control over the placement of your makeup.
The Juno and Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge can be used both wet and dry. Juno and Co recommends using the sponge dry to apply loose powder, blush and highlighters. To dampen the sponge run it under water and squeeze out excess moisture until it’s damp. When the sponge is damp you can use it to apply liquid foundations, concealer and contouring. It’s recommended that you avoid placing product directly on the sponge and instead apply it from the back of your hand.
I found that the microfiber velvet makes products easier to apply than the Beautyblender. I have to confess I’m not the biggest fan of the Beautyblender and there are definitely lower priced versions that work just as well or better.
With the Juno and Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge I don’t use as much product and the makeup application process goes by a lot quicker than with the Beautyblender.
Here’s a side by side of the Juno and Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge with the Beautyblender. The Juno and Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge is easy to clean – I just use a mild cleanser and run the sponge under water to get every last bit of makeup out.
My Final Thoughts: Juno and Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge is not only cheaper than the Beautyblender, I am liking the performance of the sponge a lot more than the Beautyblender.
