My heart’s been captured by a little cosmetics company called ittsē.
I recently had the great pleasure of learning about ittsē, which designs products to make you fall in love with your makeup all over again. From packaging to product, the utmost love has been taken in creating this makeup brand, which is something you definitely need to check out. You’ll be hooked by the website alone!
A San Francisco, California-based company, what I really love about ittsē is that their products are named for San Francisco landmarks. Growing up about 45 minutes away from the city, it was always my dream to work in San Francisco. That dream was realized when I graduated from college then went to work first in the radio industry, and then as a freelance makeup artist. Although I commuted into work and never lived in San Francisco, I’d spend my lunch hours and weekends as a tourist, visiting the different neighborhoods and exploring all the sights and sounds.
San Francisco will always be near and dear to my heart and I love that ittsē has captured the city’s essensce in their beauty products. I wear many hats in my life – blogger, photographer, makeup artist – but overall I consider myself to be a storyteller and I appreciate when brands live by their story. ittsē does this to perfection!
At the moment, ittsē offers individual eyeshadows ($8), empty eyeshadow palettes ($22), eyeshadow quads ($30), complexion products (cheek color & bronzers, $9), brow powders ($7), and curated collections of both eyeshadows and complexion colors ($86). The prices are reasonable and the products I’ve tried are great quality.
I received the ittsē Cool & Captivating Collection and Espresso Brow Powder to review. The Cool & Captivating collection contains a total of 12 eyeshadows: 2 mid-pearl shadows, 3 high pearl eyeshadows, 1 sparkle eyeshadow, and 6 matte shadows. The empty palette is sold separately and has a generously sized mirror and built-in plastic divider.
Most importantly, this collection contains a shadow called Painted Ladies, named after the colorful Victorian houses we all know from the introduction to Full House. Painted Ladies is a perfect shimmery lilac, one of my all-time favorite eyeshadow colors!
Here’s a closer look at the colors listed top to bottom, left to right:
Obsidian, Ocean Beach, and Sacrebleu!
Changing To Flats, Painted Ladies, Boho
Velveteen, Les Macarons, Barefoot
Skyscrapa!, Alabaster, Bare Canvas
Mattes are a challenging texture to pin down, and I did have to pay a bit more attention while blending Changing To Flats, but otherwise the shadows are all easy to blend and highly pigmented. I’m really impressed with the quality and color selection and there are so many shadows on the website I’m eager to try.
Espresso Brow Powder is superbly pigmented and perfect for filling in brows.
I’ll be having a lot of fun working with these colors! Here are a couple of looks I created using Cool & Capitvated that will be up on Makeup Of The Day soon.
My Final Thoughts: ittsē, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! I am really loving the Cool & Capitvated Eyeshadow collection, and I’ll be stocking up on some of their individual shadows, which at $8 each are a great value!
Here’s the exciting part: I have a couple of coupon codes for you (that I’ll be using!).
Use code painted20 to receive 20% off your order.
Use code freepalette for a free palette with the purchase of a collection (like the one I reviewed).
