Mineral makeup fans rejoice – BFTE Cosmetics is back!
As of May 1, 2014, the online shop will be back in action under brand new ownership. The new owner happens to be Kimberly, a fellow beauty blogger, and may I just say it is absolutely awesome that a beauty blogger is taking over! Kimberly was kind enough to give me a sneak peek at the new BFTE limited edition Coffee Collection v.2, which is coming out on May 1st to celebrate the store re-opening. These colors are only sold as part of a set and are priced at $26.
Being a certified coffee junkie, I had a lot of fun playing with these java-inspired colors. They are gorgeous and I have some swatches and a tutorial for you. I LOVE these universally appealing cruelty-free colors and I know you will, too.
Here are the colors swatched without a primer:
And here are the colors swatched with a primer:
Foam On Top is a satin cream that is not chalky whatsoever and blends beautifully on the browbone. Turkish Coffee is a rich taupe with golden sparkles throughout. The Last Drop is a rich dark golden brown. Java Junkie is a satin light taupe. Here are the colors in action and quick and easy tutorial for you. These colors are so easy to work with and just lovely.
Step 1: Apply Turkish Coffee to the outer part of your lid with a flat brush (MAC 239) and blend out with a fluffy brush (MAC 217).
To catch any shadow fallout, I always just use my MAC 187 Duo Fiber brush to sweep the spillage away. Works like a charm and doesn’t disturb my other makeup!
Step 2: Use a flat brush (MAC 239) to apply The Last Drop in the outer “v” of your lid. Blend out with a clean fluffy brush (MAC 217).
Step 3: Use a flat brush (MAC 242) to apply Java Junkie to the lid.
Step 4: Blend the edges of the shadow with another clean fluffy brush. This step is vital to making the colors meld together.
Step 5: Finish the look by adding Foam On Top to the browbone and inner corner of your eye.
Step 6: Add liner, mascara, brows, and you’re all set!
I have a quick little video on Instagram showing my blending techniques if you’d like to see me in action. The details for this look will be coming up in 365 Days of Makeup, so make sure to check back in!
Are you as excited as I am now? I hope so! I have another FOTD with these gorgeous, rich, brown, taupes and creams coming tomorrow!
The Coffee Collection v.2 will be available May 1, 2014 on www.bftecosmetics.com and priced as a set for $26.
