The Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette is a highlighting palette with a bit of a twist – one of the highlighters is a shea butter-based cream, based on Huda’s beauty hack of mixing a powder highlighter with oil to give it a boost. Beside the Gold Sand edition there’s also the Pink Sand edition, which is a bit lighter. The Summer Solstice palette was released as a limited edition for Summer and it’s still available online at Sephora.
From left to right you’ll find Fiji (the cream), Seychelles, Tahiti and Zanzibar.
A nice feature of the Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette, which is housed in sturdy cardboard, is the instruction list on the inner lid of the palette. First you prep your skin with Fiji, the cream, then set Fiji with Seychelles. You use Tahiti to sculpt your cheekbones and then finish of the look with Zanzibar as a blush on the apples of your cheeks.
Let me be straight up honest and tell you I disregarded the last part of the instructions. Tahiti is a little too shimmery for me to use as a sculpting color, so I used a matte powder from the IT Cosmetics YouSculpted! palette as my cheekbone contour and dabbed a bit of Tahiti on top.
I also think the blush is a bit too shimmery for my personal taste and pore size. In photos it looks good, but in person the shimmer could definitely be toned down a bit. I’m all over the glow from the highlighters, though, and really like the combination of the cream plus the powder. They make for lovely eyeshadows as well!
My Final Thoughts: The Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette Gold Sand Edition is pretty and I’ll definitely use it tons. I do wish a version will come out with a less shimmery blush and bronzer – I’ll be first in line to snatch it up!
