When it comes to the matter of eyeliner, do you have a few colorful shades in your collection that might not see the light of day so often? It happens. Liners that aren’t black, brown, or grey can seem a bit intimidating! With that in mind, I came up with an easy guide showing you how to wear colorful eyeliner.
For this tutorial I’m using two kohls by BlackUp Cosmetics in KS03 (sky blue) and KS05 (iridescent purple) that I reviewed a few months ago.
I have to say these eyeliners are right on the mark and besides being creamy and smooth, the color payoff is excellent. When it comes to colored liners, I like this gel kind of texture that offers flexibility with application.
1. In The Waterline
My favorite and easiest way to change up an eyeshadow look, a bit of colorful liner on the waterline, or lower lashes, adds a nice bit of vibrancy.
2. Contrasted With Black Liner
I’ll often use a colorful liner on it’s own on my upper lash line, but for some added flair I’ll layer colorful liner on top of my standard black liner. To do this, I use an angled brush that I’ve passed over the tip of the eyeliner and carefully apply it to my eyelid.
3. Eyeshadow Base
This trick might change your eyeshadow life! To boost your eyeshadow, I’ll smudge some colorful liner on my lid and then pat a coordinating powder shadow on top. It really works and will add shimmer and color payoff to your eyeshadow looks.
Now, go forth and be colorful!
